Investing in Israel from abroad

About half of our clients live outside Israel. We have built our procedures around clients in other time zones, languages and legal systems.

§ 1 · Representation

Represented without travelling

Most foreign clients meet us once — by video or in Jerusalem — and sign the rest remotely.

With a properly drafted and apostilled power of attorney, we can sign, register and pay on your behalf while you remain abroad.

§ 2 · Key issues

What foreign buyers ask us about most

  1. Tax residency. Purchase tax rates differ for residents and non-residents; we coordinate with your tax adviser.
  2. Bank accounts. Opening an Israeli account and complying with anti-money-laundering checks.
  3. Currency. Timing transfers and payment schedules around exchange rates.
  4. Israel Land Authority. Approvals required for some foreign buyers of leasehold land.
§ 3 · Languages

Your language, Israeli law

English

All partners; all memoranda.

French

Two partners and our senior paralegal.

Russian

One partner and a certified translator.

Hebrew

Every binding document and filing.

§ 4 · Documents

Documents to prepare

Before your first meeting it helps to have a passport copy, proof of address, the source of funds for the transaction and — if you are buying through a company — its incorporation documents and register of shareholders.

Requirements depend on your country of residence and the type of transaction. We send a tailored checklist after the first consultation.

§ 5 · Time zones

Calls when it suits you
